New supervisors, leads, acting supervisors, aspiring supervisors, and those who need a refresher.

Description:

Approaching Supervisory Situations with Confidence: Sound Employment Solutions

This scenario-based, three-hour class is designed for new supervisors, supervisors who would like a refresher, leads, and aspiring supervisors to help them become comfortable in dealing with some of the less frequent but risky supervisory issues that may arise.  Participants will work through real-life scenarios dealing with such issues as disability accommodations, leave requests, incidents of harassment, ethics violations, employee impairment, workplace violence, and employee procedural rights.  Participants will gain confidence and improve their communications with their employees by learning how to handle these difficult situations.  At the end of the class, participants will have gained knowledge regarding:

  • How to recognize when an employee issue presents risk for the supervisor and/or organization
  • What to say and not to say when confronted by these challenging supervisory issues
  • How to minimize potential risk in advance
  • What resources may be available to supervisors when facing these various situations

Cancelations are required at least 2 days prior to the training date.  No-Shows bill be billed $50.00
