Description:

The Power of Resilience:  How to Beat Dispatcher Burnout
Presenter, Adam Timm, Stress Management Consulting

This 4-hour course provides emergency dispatchers with the knowledge and tools to mitigate the serious risk posed by 9-1-1 work related stress.  Our presenter will cover the physiology of the stress response; three elements of stress theory; the stress of the dispatcher job function and what to do about it!  He will also address nutrition and identifying the stress promoting vs. stress-reducing diets.  The presentation will also include; the 7-step action plan for managing fear; self-management tools for creating more free time and stress resilience strategies to go from habitually reacting to proactively responding.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn evidence-based practices to understand the underlying cause of work related chronic/traumatic stress.  These best practices will assist with:

  • Dramatically lowering stress levels and managing fear
  • Identifying underlying thought patterns that lead to more stress
  • Improving interpersonal communication at work and at home
  • Creating more time to do the things that are most important
