Description:

Janet May, Sound Employment Solutions

This interactive workshop is designed for employees who want to prepare for supervisory roles in their organization or who have recently stepped into a supervisory role. The workshop takes a boot camp approach by incorporating the key aspects of several topics that are often covered more in-depth in individual classes.

Studies consistently show that healthy and effective organizations start with strong leadership. Yet the transition from being an employee to a supervisor can be challenging.

Training Objectives:

  • Explore key leadership skills, and leadership styles, and how to assess their own skills and styles to become the best leader they can be.
  • Provide resources for strengthening leadership skills and styles, and developing a strong leadership team.
  • Discuss the challenges of leading former coworkers, particularly as it pertains to their role and legal responsibilities.
  • Participants will explore how they can assist Human Resources in hiring the best staff for their teams, how to help new staff get integrated successfully into the team, and how to use the probationary period effectively.
  • Learn about setting expectations, providing meaningful feedback, dealing with pushback, and documenting performance evaluations.
  • The session will conclude with tips for imposing and recommending discipline.

Participant Expectations:
  • Participants are expected to have video camera capabilities and must fully participate in small group breakouts and other group interactive activities by using either audio or chat feature as instructed by the trainer

Registration:
  • Participants must register in advance to participate.
  • Cancellation is required at least 2 business days before the training date.
  • Registrants who do not cancel in advance will be invoiced a $50 No-Show Fee.
